Wem-ber-lee, Wem-ber-lee, we’re the famous Dog & Duck and we’re going to Wembley!

That could be your pub team chanting (albeit with a different name) as BT Sport’s Pub Cup returns with a final like no other.

This year our four finalists – two men’s teams and two women’s – will play for the Pub Cup trophy, free BT Sport for your pub for a year and £1,000 to spend in the BT shop at the home of football, Wembley stadium.

And with entry now open, it really could be you and your pub team stepping out at the world famous stadium, just weeks after the Euro 2020 trophy is raised to the North London sky.

A total of 80 pub teams will be drawn to take part in the competition – 64 men’s and 16 women’s.

They will start by playing in regional semi-final tournaments in the North and the South.

Just getting to that stage will be a day to remember for all taking part, with the events being held at Premier League champions Manchester City’s Etihad Training Complex (July 18) and the former England training ground Bisham Abbey (July 24 & 25).

The winners of the seven-a-side tournaments will progress to have the chance to play for glory under the famous arch in the 90,000 capacity stadium.

It is set to be an incredible journey for everyone involved and a way to reunite and cement those vital links between your pub and grassroots sport, something that so many have missed in the last year.

Shane Coates-Jarman, licensee of our 2019 men’s champions CJs of Nuneaton, explains what the Pub Cup means to him:

We have fantastic memories and the lads loved it. They can’t wait to get together again to defend the title. They are so excited because it’s a dream to get to play somewhere like Wembley. We can’t wait.

Getting involved could not be easier. You can either enter your pub with a team that already represents you or link up with another local grassroots team to play for you in the tournament.

To be eligible to take part you must be a BT Sport customer and all players must be aged over 18. For T&Cs see here.

The prize of playing at Wembley and winning the tournament is a huge draw for pubs but every business that links with a grassroots football team will reap the benefits it brings week in, week out.

This is your chance to not only play at Wembley but to cement your pub as the clubhouse for your team for years to come.
