Get back in the game with our digital skills courses

Our free webinars and virtual one-to-ones will give you and your customers confidence to return from lockdown.

Live sport will be back on our screens this month and, all being well, pubs and clubs will be welcoming guests back just a few weeks later.

Exactly how post lockdown trading will look in the world of hospitality remains to be seen. This is why operators need to explore every avenue they can to get ready and show customers that they are prepared for a new way of doing business.

Over the course of the next few weeks we will be providing you with a programme of free webinars, bespoke virtual one-to-one sessions and videos.

Our team will be on hand to help you get to grips with social media, growing your online visibility and connecting with new and regular customers about your post-lockdown offer.

The free sessions are here to help you and your staff get back to business and show your customers that you are ready to trade and provide them with an experience well worth leaving the house for.

Here’s what you can catch up on…

Get your business visible online

Did you know that there are 3.5 billion Google searches every day? If people are looking for ‘pubs near them’ or ‘is my local pub open again?’ you want them to find you first.

This session will give you the tools to improve your visibility on the biggest website in the world.

You’ll be taught how to set up or claim your own Google My Business account and how to add important information such as your opening hours and the services you offer.

We’ll also show you how to add photos so customers can see how you are set-up for trading with social distancing. And we’ll demonstrate how you can create a free website using your Google My Business listing.

The session will be underpinned with case studies showing how other operators haves used Google My Business to grow their presence, connect with their customers and turn traffic into turnover.

Social Media 101

In the next session two we turned our eye to the world of social media and how you can use it to extend your reach.

We explored the best platforms for your pub or club and demonstrated how to set up a Facebook business account.

We also checked in with venues that have used social to stay in touch with their communities during lockdown and promoted activities such as takeaway services, virtual events and charitable efforts.

Social Media 101 will give you the tools and confidence to make more of your own social channels.

How to build and enhance your website

If Google is the first place many customers will find you, the next step is likely to be your own website.

This session will help you build a website from scratch – whatever your budget – and reveal how you can use it to reach new customers. We’ll examine the importance of photos, key words and phrases and ensuring your site looks the part and functions effectively across multiple platforms.

We explored how your business may change due to Covid-19, be it opening hours, showing live sport or delivering service in a friendly and safe way for both your staff and your customers.

This session will help you look at how you can communicate those changes to your customers via your website.

The webinars are pitched to business operators and managers or the people in your teams who look after your digital activity.

And if you want to get ahead of the game, here’s our opening top tips on helping you to deliver digitally.

We will also be producing a series of short films to give you even more tips on the world of digital and post lockdown trading. Find them on the BT Sport Business website here.
