Get the drinks out for the cups

This time of year means finals and potentially huge days of trade

Whatever your sport, it’s hard to beat the drama of knockout competition.

Be it international, European clubs or domestic, cups provide us with more than their fair share of thrilling moments – and where better to enjoy these than in the pub?

Over the next few weeks BT Sport is going cup crazy with both the football and rugby union seasons building up to a sensational finish.

Here’s our handy guide to what’s coming up on BT Sport so that neither you nor your customers miss out.

Champions League Final

Who:  Liverpool vs Spurs

When: Saturday June 1, 8pm

Where: Madrid

Liverpool go into this on the back of one of the most sensational results in Champions League history. Nobody really expected them to come from 3-0 behind to beat Barcelona and win the tie. But they did, with that insane 4-0 win at Anfield. They head to the final for the second successive year. Spurs have upset the odds to earn their place in the final at Atletico’s Metropolitano Stadium. Nobody really expects them to beat Liverpool but…

Like recent Champions League finals this game is being played on a Saturday night so be sure to be prepared for more football fans than usual at this time of the weekend.

Europa League Final

Who:  Arsenal vs Chelsea

When: Wednesday May 29, 8pm

Where: Baku

Azerbaijan is a long way for these two sides to go for a game but we’ll be there to bring you all of the action. As well as glory, the winning side will also be guaranteed a place in next season’s Champions League, if qualification hasn’t already been secured by other means.

FA Cup Final

Who: Manchester City vs Watford

When: Saturday May 18, 5pm

Where: Wembley

City can end the season in style by picking up yet another domestic trophy. However, Watford have had a season to remember themselves and are now an established top-flight side. It will be the Hornets first FA Cup Final appearance since 1984 when a tearful Elton John watched on. 35 years later and a film about their life president is being released a day before the final itself, can Rocketman inspire the Watford men?

European Rugby Challenge Cup Final

Who: Clermont Auvergne vs La Rochelle

When: Friday May 10, 7.45pm

Where: St James’ Park, Newcastle

Rugby’s massive weekend of European rugby kicks off on Friday May 10 in Newcastle with this all French affair. Pubs in Newcastle are bound to be busy and you can be too by showing all the live action on BT Sport 2.

Heineken Champions Cup Final

Who: Leinster vs Saracens

When: Saturday May 11, 5pm

Where: St James’ Park, Newcastle

These two sides have dominated rugby’s showpiece event in recent years. Leinster are bidding to become the first side to win five Champions cups, while Sarries will be looking to win a third in just four years. It’s a tough one to call but should be a heck of a watch for your sport fans.

Gallagher Premiership Final

Who: tbc

When: Saturday June 1, 3pm

Where: Twickenham

Saracens and Exeter Chiefs go in as favourites but they will face a tough challenge from Gloucester and whoever gets the final play off slot. The semis take place a week ahead of the final which itself is on the same day as the Champions League Final, so plenty of reasons for customers to stick with you for the duration.

All of the above will be broadcast on BT Sport. To let your customers know what’s coming up be sure to download our promotional assets. You can find them here https://btsportbusiness.com/fixtures-and-promotion/
