After a two-year pandemic-enforced break the UFC is heading to London to give pubs and clubs a prime time opportunity.

Some of the most exciting names in MMA will tough it out at the O2 Arena, in what is bound to be a crowd-pulling event.

And with the main card getting underway at 8pm on Saturday 19 March, it’s perfect timing for the on-trade to really pack a punch.

It will be the first time the UFC has held an event outside of the US or Abu Dhabi’s Fight Island since the start of the pandemic – showing how big the sport is on this side of the Atlantic.

BT Sport will bring what looks like a fascinating line-up live to pubs and clubs across the UK.

Home heavyweight talent Tom Aspinall tops the bill in a showdown with Russian Alexander Volkov.

At the other end of the scales featherweight Arnold Allen has a mouth-watering match-up against Dan Hooker.

And two Liverpool fighters, Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett, will both be looking to enhance their already burgeoning reputations.

It’s all set up for a memorable night in the Octogen, as UFC president Dana White said: "Every time we put on an event in London, it's an unbelievable experience. The fans are incredible, and the fights are always off the charts.

“It’s a different kind of energy in England. And I can’t wait to get back there with a fight card on March 19.”

Among the other names set to feature on a showcase evening in London are Wales’ rising bantamweight contender Jack Shore, Birmingham flyweight Jake Hadley and Wigan featherweight Mike Grundy.
