Scrumming soon: the return of the Gallagher Premiership

Top-flight rugby is back with up to 80 live games on BT Sport

After a couple of disrupted campaigns, rugby fans will be hoping for a full season of domestic rugby action – and where better to watch it than with you?

The Gallagher Premiership kicks-off this month and you can show all the drama as it unfolds live on BT Sport.

As the home to domestic rugby since 2013, we’ll be bringing you 80 live Premiership and Premiership Rugby Cup matches throughout the campaign, generally with three games across the weekend.

And if it starts like the last one finished, you and your rugby fans are going to be in for another rugby rollercoaster.

Last season’s play-off champions Harlequins squeezed out Exeter Chiefs in a thrilling 40-38 finale.

Both of those will feature in our first weekend of coverage, as will the returning Saracens and their squad of international superstars.

It’s all set-up for a thrilling campaign. Here’s what’s coming up live on BT Sport in September.

Bristol Bears vs Saracens

Friday September 17, 7.45pm

They topped the table last season but Bristol Bears were undone in the play-off semis by Harlequins. They face a tough start to this campaign with promoted Saracens visiting Ashton Gate.

Leicester Tigers vs Exeter Chiefs

Saturday September 18, 3pm

Two former European and domestic champions top the bill on Saturday afternoon. After some time in the doldrums the Tigers have got their roar back and will look forward to facing the Chiefs at Welford Road.

Newcastle Falcons vs Harlequins

Sunday September 19, 3pm

It was a fairy-tale ending to the season for Harlequins, after finishing fourth they toppled Bristol and Exeter to lift the Premiership trophy. The Falcons were at the other end of things so they’ll be desperate to get off to a flyer.

Gloucester Rugby vs Leicester Tigers

Friday September 24, 7.45pm

The cherry and whites finished a disappointing eleventh in the table last time out, but for several tight games could have been higher. They’ll be hoping to get on the right side of things when the Tigers come to town.

Wasps vs Bristol Bears

Saturday September 25, 3pm

With 13 teams in the Gallagher Premiership one team gets a rest every week. Wasps miss the opening round which means their season gets underway against Bristol at the newly named Coventry Building Society Arena.

London Irish vs Sale Sharks

Sunday September 26, 3pm

Sale did the double over Irish as they finished in the play-off spots last season. Irish, who are now in their third year back in the top-flight will be eyeing up a top six finish. This is set to be an intriguing encounter.
