The BT Sport Pub Cup is back, bigger and better

The 2019 tournament gives pub players the chance to shine at top stadiums, receive a free Puma kit just for entering and sees the launch of the Women’s Pub Cup

The BT Sport Pub Cup is kicking off soon and we’ll be giving more pub teams a Premier League experience than ever before.

Now in its third year, the tournament that celebrates grassroots football and that important relationship between pubs and amateur teams, is going to be in a different league in 2019.

More places and players

For starters, we’ll be giving nearly 200 pub teams – and thousands of players – the chance to take the field at a professional stadium – that’s three times more teams than last year.

To accommodate the growth we’ll be upping the number of regional heats at national, Premier League, and Championship stadiums.

Our journey kicks off on May 7 at Millwall’s Den and culminates in a finals day at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on June 4.

Along the way we will stop off at major grounds in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, including Anfield, Murrayfield, St Mary’s and Molineux.

Women’s Pub Cup

It’s a standout year for women’s football with a World Cup this summer and the FA Women’s Super League going fully professional.

And for the first time the BT Sport Pub Cup will be running a women’s tournament alongside the men’s.

This year 32 teams will compete for the chance to become the inaugural Women’s Pub Cup champions and win £5,000 of equipment and free BT Sport for a year for their pub.

Get your kit on

In a spectacular giveaway we are going to be kitting-out the country’s pub football teams.

This year all eligible pub teams that register to play will receive a full Puma kit that is bound to be the envy of the oppo. 15 kits, including one for your keeper, with BT Sport branding and space for your club’s badge will be yours just for registering.

That means we’ll be providing new strip to around 1,500 pub teams and 22,500 players.

Prizes

Just entering this year’s tournament brings its own reward, as will playing at some of the great grounds around the country.

But teams will naturally be looking to progress from the regional heats to the semi-finals at Manchester City’s Academy and then onto the showpiece final itself at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on June 4.

Winning was certainly the icing on the cake for last year’s champions, The Gun from London’s Hackney.

Taking part and winning the Pub Cup was an amazing experience. We got back to the pub after the final and it was really kicking off! I’ll never forget team skipper Bondy getting up on a table and holding the trophy in the air.”

This year’s men and women’s Pub Cup winners will receive the glory of being champions along with £5,000 of free equipment and free BT Sport for a year for their pub.

It’s a sensational prize but you’ve got to be in it to win it, so get your name down for the BT Sport Pub Cup 2019 now.
